Senior Projects Coordinator
Located in the eastern Fraser Valley, the communities of Cheam First Nation, District of Kent, Sq’éwlets First Nation, Seabird Island Band, Stó:lō Tribal Council, Sts’ailes First Nation, and the Village of Harrison Hot Springs are parties to a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperation and Communication. The parties meet regularly, on a quarterly basis, to discuss concerns and projects of mutual interest.
An exciting opportunity is available for an individual who possesses advanced skills and knowledge of the functions and objectives of Boards and/or Committees. The Senior Projects Coordinator plays an integral role by providing confidential, senior level administrative, protocol and communications support functions.
The successful candidate is an experienced and proactive professional with hands-on knowledge in coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, and completing detailed minutes; possess a very organized and detail-oriented work style; demonstrates a commitment to excellence and integrity; and capable of working under pressure, sometimes with difficult matters. In addition, this position must be able to work independently and to complete follow-up items from the meetings.
The incumbent must be able to demonstrate his/her ability to establish and maintain a high level of tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality in interacting with elected officials, staff, and the public.
Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of five years direct local or first nation’s government experience along with post-secondary education in public administration or an undergraduate degree in a related discipline. Hours of work are limited part-time and varied based upon the meeting schedule. Pay for this position ranges from $32 to $37 per hour depending on experience.
