We currently have a regular full time opportunity for a Design Technician to work as part of our Engineering Planning and Design team. You will be involved in the design of municipal engineering services. Duties include design, layout, cost estimating, construction technical support for transportation, utility and park related projects including roads, laneways, sidewalks, traffic calming, watermains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, culverts and retaining walls; as well as reviewing third party utility designs (BC Hydro, Telus, Shaw).
Applicants must possess a certificate in Civil Engineering from a recognized technical institute and certification as a technician with the A.S.T.T. of BC, supplemented by experience in actual municipal design work. An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Familiarity with computer aided drafting design (CAD) is required along with a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence.

The pay range for this unionized position is $34.98 to $41.29 per hour (2019 rates) based on a 35-hour work week.
