Temp. Full Time Executive Liaison

If you are seeking an opportunity to utilize your vast administrative knowledge and skills while the COVID-19 pandemic has put your retirement plans on hold, or if you simply want to utilize your skills to assist in a new work environment, we are looking for an experienced Executive Liaison to fulfill a temporary 3-month term as we recruit a new chief administrative officer.

The Town of Ladysmith is a vibrant community nestled on the eastern shores of spectacular Vancouver Island. With a population of approximately 8,900 people, the community provides an inviting small town atmosphere and yet, is only a short commute to all the amenities of a major urban centre. Residents enjoy excellent community and recreational facilities, including year-round opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts.

Reporting to the Acting Chief Administrative Officer (A/CAO), this position works in a challenging, fast-paced environment and provides a broad range of senior administrative support services to the A/CAO, Mayor, Council and Senior Management team. The work is varied and complex and a responsive, proactive approach to this role is necessary.

The Executive Liaison assists the A/CAO to manage and prioritize communications and activities, researching and preparing information, liaising and building strong working relationships with a wide variety of contacts, and working with committees as required. The Executive Liaison also works closely with management to ensure that the A/CAO, Senior Management Team and Council receive executive level administrative support.

To be ready to succeed you will hold a certificate in Local Government Administration and have a minimum five (5) years’ progressive, related experience in a local government setting.
