The City of Coquitlam is currently seeking enthusiastic applicants to join our casual Ice Skate Instructor team. The successful candidates will have excellent communication and people skills; be team players; have the ability to lead, participate and instruct skating program participants; maintain an effective working relationship with program participants, volunteers, staff and the general public; plan creative lesson plans for a variety of skating levels using progressions and complete report cards.

Candidates are required to be able available to work the following days:

April– June
Monday and Wednesdays between 6:15 and 8:30 p.m. and/or
Thursdays between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. and/or
Fridays between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. and/or
Saturdays between 1 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. and/or
Sundays between 9 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.

June – July
Monday to Friday 4:00 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Current Emergency First Aid and CPR ‘C’ certification
  • At least 16 years old
  • Strong skating background
  • Experience working with children is an asset

Additional Qualifications considered an asset:
  • High Five Certifications
  • Recreation Instructor Skating Course
  • NCCP Certifications

The rate of pay for this position varies, depending on experience/specialty. The range of pay is $16.00 to $20.00 per hour plus 4% in lieu of benefits.
