SCOPE
We’re looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals to spend the summer helping the City of Surrey in putting on great, inclusive day camps for children with disabilities. As a Community Service Assistant 1 – Day Camp One to One Support, you will be mainly responsible for providing personal care and support to children with disabilities attending summer day camps. You will have excellent customer skills, high energy, and an enthusiastic approach to your work.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in adapting and delivering recreation services.
  • Provide one to one personal care and support for children with disabilities.
  • Help participants learn and follow rules to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
  • Modify instruction and work with campers individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and skills, introduced by the leader.
  • General support in the delivery of summer day camps.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • A current Emergency First Aid with CPR-C/AED certificate.
  • Completion of grade 12.
  • Some experience working in community service.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Have patience, compassion and respect for others.
  • Unrestricted Class 4 Driver’s License with safe driving history is an asset.
