Instructor/ Lifeguard 1 and Junior Instructor/Lifeguard Opportunities

LGI $26.36 to $31.00 per hour / Junior LGI $20.19 per hour
Do you enjoy contributing to a healthy active community? Lifeguarding is an exciting job which promotes teamwork, develops communication skills and encourages fitness and well-being. This position is responsible for the safety of patrons in the aquatic facilities. Our lifeguard/instructors have the opportunity to work at any of Richmond's four aquatic facilities. Two of the facilities are indoor - Minoru Aquatic Centre and Watermania and two are outdoor - South Arm and Steveston. Join our team and apply today.
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
- 500 hours or related lifeguarding experience
- Courses in lifesaving, aquatic skills, instruction and pool operations and maintenance as required for the certifications listed below.
- National Lifeguard Service Award - Pool & Waterpark Options; Red Cross Water Safety Instructor; Lifesaving Instructor (LSI) Certificate; Current First Aid Certificate including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED). WHMIS training is required for the position and will be provided to all staff.
Candidates without Grade 12,500 hours experience or LSI certification may be considered for Auxiliary Junior Lifeguard employment
