Senior Human Resources Advisor
The District of West Vancouver (the District) is one of three municipalities that make up the North Shore, and is a member of Metro Vancouver, the governing body of the Greater Vancouver Regional District. Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the Senior Human Resources Advisor provides consultation and advice to managers and staff on a wide range of human resource programs, processes, initiatives and labour relations matters, to ensure practices are consistent and comply with legislation, collective agreements, administrative regulations, policies and procedures. The Senior Human Resources Advisor is committed to establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, managers, bargaining agents, and external contacts; interacting in a manner that builds trust, credibility, and rapport.
The ideal candidate has: completed a degree in Human Resources or a related field; experience in all functional areas of HR in a unionized environment; a record of accomplishments which demonstrates effective teamwork, collaborative problem solving and excellent customer service; a high energy level; an appetite for progressive change and continuous learning; strong organizational and time management skills; success in building and maintaining strong working relationships; and exceptional facilitation, negotiation, and communication skills. A CPHR designation would be considered an asset.
The successful candidate is required to supply a criminal record check and a copy of their credentials. A personal vehicle and a valid BC Driver’s License are required.
