Human Resources Advisor
The District of Saanich is looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) generalist to join our team. The Human Resources Advisor provides professional advice on all aspects of the employment relationship. Key areas include collective agreement and policy interpretation, labour relations, performance management, recruitment and selection, change and transition and application of HR programs. The Human Resources Advisor has a designated client assignment and provides support to managers and supervisors in the conduct of their management responsibilities. In addition, this position provides training and education to all levels of the organization as well supports the HR Leadership team with assigned projects as required.

If you are applying for this position you have a strong labour relations background in the unionized setting. You come with experience in interpreting and applying collective agreements, a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of HR best practices as well as being well versed with related legislation and legal statutes and how they govern human resources in a unionized setting. You have a coaching mindset in supporting your operational clients and are able to both individually and collaboratively problem solve complex issues quickly and effectively. In addition to your five or more years’ in depth experience as a Human Resources practitioner in a unionized environment, you have a Bachelor’s Degree, or an equivalent combination of education experience. Having the Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation or being eligible for designation would be an asset for any applicant.
