Manager of Corporate Services

The Town of Creston is now accepting applications for Manager of Corporate Services position within the Corporate Services Department. This is a new full-time position working as a key member of the Town of Creston’s Management Team and will provide direct management of Corporate Services and the assigned administrative staff.

Specific accountabilities for the Manager of Corporate Services include preparing meeting agendas, minutes, bylaws, correspondence and related documentation, administering and evaluating the Town’s Records Management Program, managing subordinates, conducting municipal elections and acting as the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Coordinator. Further, the Manager of Corporate Services will provide parliamentarian advice and assistance to Council, senior management and the general public regarding legislative requirements, provide leadership and support to the senior management team in human resources, corporate communications and customer service.

The Manager of Corporate Services will champion the Town of Creston’s corporate mission and values as expressed in Council’s Corporate Strategic Plan. To be successful in this position, candidates will demonstrate the ability to create and maintain successful working relationships with Council, senior management, staff and the public and demonstrate a high level of accuracy, confidentiality and discretion in their work.

REQUIRED TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS:
The ideal candidate has a post-secondary degree in Public or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience with five years of progressive experience in senior local government administrative roles including management experience. A fundamental knowledge of local government legislation, along with LGMA Records Management System, Municipal Elections, and FOIP and Access to Information processes are required. The ideal candidate should also have enthusiasm for progressive change and continuous learning coupled with strong organizational and time management skills. You will have exceptional interpersonal skills, be proficient in Microsoft
Office, and have a high attention to detail.
