Accounting Assistant


It all adds up!
The City of Kelowna has an opportunity for you! Join our Financial Services team and make a difference. As an Accounting Assistant you will process payments on accounts, record expenses and liabilities through the accounts payable or receivable sub-ledger, balance and reconcile statements, prepare summaries of accounts, invoices, journal entries, process payroll and assist the public with municipal transactions. The successful applicant will be flexible to handle a range of accounting activities and provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications are:
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent relevant accounting experience
  • Excellent communication skills & attention to detail with accurate data entry
  • Computer literacy with multi-tasking skills
  • A minimum of 3 courses recognized by CPA, one of which is in Accounting or Finance
