Transportation Coordinator – Transportation Operations

The City of Victoria is recruiting for the position of Transportation Coordinator to support the development and implementation of new Citywide traffic safety, traffic calming and crosswalk programs. The successful candidate will be a senior member of our Transportation Operations Department supporting the ongoing improvement of the City’s road network to move people safely and efficiently by all modes.  This position will also support ongoing Transportation capital initiatives such as the bicycle master plan and pedestrian master plan implementation while reviewing development applications to look for opportunities to improve our street system.   

The ideal candidate has proven transportation operations related experience, including CAD software design skills, Synchro or other traffic signal modelling software, understands engineering drawings and technical specifications, and has experience developing policy to direct ongoing capital programs. The position will liaise with consultants, professional staff in other departments and outside agencies, and apply creativity and technical skills to support safer, high-quality transportation infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring fresh and innovative ideas and strong leadership and project delivery skills.
