Information Systems Technician I

The Information Systems Technician I assists with the implementation and maintenance of the City’s Information Technology (IT) systems.  This position will provide client support, basic training for staff on new software and City systems, and maintain and update the city’s website using content management software and the services of an external vendor.  The Information Systems Technician will exercise considerable independent judgment and actions and refers matters of major importance to the Manager of Information Systems.   


  • A minimum of three years working in the Information Systems field in a local government setting.

  • Grade 12 completion.
  • A diploma or degree in Information Systems or Computer Science.

  • Possession of a valid BC Driver’s License.
  • A combination of relevant training and experience will be considered in lieu of the above skills & training.

This is a unionized position. The salary is $34.16 per hour (January 1, 2019 rate) after successful completion of probation based on a 35 hour work week in accordance with the current Collective Agreement.
