Applications are invited for the Regular Full-Time position of Building Maintenance Supervisor to work in the Recreation, Culture and Community Services Department.  This is a supervisory janitorial and semi-skilled technical position that requires considerable independent judgment and action in supervising janitorial operations and in coordinating building and mechanical maintenance services at all buildings owned and operated by the City. The Building Maintenance Supervisor maintains and monitors computerized mechanical control systems, establishes and implements preventative maintenance programs, maintains computerized security access system, performs a variety of minor plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry maintenance and repairs, prepares operating budgets, and arranges and monitors contract services. 

RATE OF PAY:           
Pay Grade 24:  $35.82 to $38.07 per hour

*35 hours per week
*Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday; 4:00 p.m. to Midnight
*Saturday and Sunday; 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The successful candidate will have Grade 12 supplemented by Building Services Worker Certification, Emergency First Aid Certification, WHIMIS training, Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certification, thorough knowledge of WorkSafeBC Regulations, a valid class 5 BC Drivers license, and a trade certification plus sound related experience in building maintenance operation including supervisory janitorial experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
