Public Works Services Manager

One of BC’s Top 100 Employers, the City of Coquitlam, is currently seeking a Public Works Services Manager to join our leadership team.  This exciting opportunity is a newly created position in our Engineering and Public Works department.

Reporting to the Director of Public Works, this position is an integral part of Public Works leadership team and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Public Works Administration and Work Control sections.  The Manager is responsible for the identification, assessment, evaluation of and recommended actions related to emerging issues, changing business directions, and new initiatives.  The Manager will develop, implement, and monitor program performance measures in Public Works, including identifying key metrics and performance indicators and provide program recommendations to enhance operational effectiveness. This position will also support the Director and four Superintendents in the division by conducting research, providing meaningful data, analysis and reports.

In addition to Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, the ideal candidate brings 5-7 years’ of progressive related experience, preferably within a municipal or regional government setting. Considerable knowledge of and experience in engineering and utility operations is required.  Shortlisted candidates will be required to consent to a Police Information Check.
