Permanent Full-time Vacancy – Information Manager

The Information Manager provides strategic direction and guidance in business applications, IT operations and Geographical Information Systems (“GIS”) that support the District of Lake Country.  This position will play a key role in developing and implementing a digital strategy for the District of Lake Country, linking technological strategies to the organizational goals and objectives while articulating complex ideas in a language that is understood by both technical and non-technical audiences.

Information Technology (“IT”) at the District of Lake Country has three main pillars which support the management of the enterprise information.  These three areas are:
 
  • Business applications services and business solution management
  • IT operations and IT infrastructure services
  • Business intelligence and data services

The preferred candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in associated technical areas; bachelor’s degree in computer science/computer engineering or related field; intermediate understanding of spatial data management and information systems; demonstrated experience in managing complex, multi-site computer, telecommunication and GIS systems; and a valid British Columbia Driver’s Licence.

This is a variable work week to attend network outages or when the system goes down and for attendance at meetings or events after normal work hours; with an intended work week of 40 hours per week. The annual salary for this exempt position is within a range of $99,395 to $116,905 (2019 rates), depending upon qualifications, and includes a comprehensive benefit package.
