Accounting Clerk I

Permanent Full-Time Position

The Town of Comox is presently receiving applications for the position of Accounting Clerk I.   This is a permanent full-time Union (CUPE Local 556) position with a current rate of pay of $30.75 per hour.

Reporting directly to the Deputy Director of Finance the successful candidate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service as well as a variety of basic accounting duties.

Typical duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
  • Cashier and customer service for transactions at the counter
  • Back-up reception and telephone duties
  • Supporting and providing coverage for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll
  • Other tasks as assigned  

Completion of Grade 12 and a good working knowledge of basic accounting procedures is required. Post-secondary education in the field of accounting is preferred.
