We are currently recruiting for the temporary, full-time position of Engineering Technologist, for a one year term with a possibility of extension. The successful candidate will have a diploma in Civil Engineering or related field, specialized training in GIS, a valid BC driver’s license and be registered as a technician or technologist with ASTTBC.
You have excellent time management skills and work well both independently and in a team environment. You have experience working with GIS, CAD and water modelling and have worked a minimum of two years of in local government or an engineering firm. Your strong communication skills allow you to deal effectively with the public, coworkers and developers with tact and diplomacy.
Reporting to the Manager, Water Distribution, the Engineering Technologist provides technical engineering services to Greater Vernon Water and other utilities managed by the RDNO. This position works with GIS staff to develop and manage GIS and water modelling data, reviews applications and agency referral requests, and communicates with a wide range of internal and external contacts.

This is a temporary, full-time position (35 hours/week) with an hourly wage range of $33.98 to $39.04 per hour (2019 rates), plus 16% in lieu of all benefits.
