Chief Administrative Officer

The Village of Ashcroft (www.ashcroftbc.ca) is seeking a new Chief Administrative Officer.  The community of 1600, located in the Southern Interior, is a stable and progressive community that is on the cusp of significant development.  Our motto of “Wellness Awaits You” is reflected in the clean water, fresh air, safe community, affordable housing, wide range of activities and a vibrant art community

Reporting to the Mayor and Council, you will lead a 12 member team to continue to deliver outstanding municipal services to our residents and carry out Council’s strategic priorities.  The Village has a new Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw (adopted October 2018) and are in the process of reviewing their Subdivision Servicing Bylaw.  As with all small communities housing is a challenge however new developments are in the early stages.  Ashcroft Terminal, an inland port located within our boundaries, continues to expand their services as do our regional industries including Koppers, IG Machine & Fibers Ltd. and Highland Valley Copper.

As the ideal candidate you will have strong credentials, a background in public administration, experience with smaller communities and a solid knowledge of the Approving Officer function.  You will be a team player and strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, financial literacy and sound political judgement.

The Village offers a competitive salary commensurate with knowledge and experience, including a comprehensive benefit package.  A complete job description is available on the Village’s website at www.ashcroftbc.ca.
