The Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) is seeking a talented HR professional with a passion for making a difference and a desire to live in one of the nicest communities in all of BC. The SCRD is inviting applications for the position of Corporate Safety Officer (Full-time, Exempt). Under the general direction of the Senior Manager, Human Resources, this role provides a broad range of technical, administrative, and other professional services to management, staff, the general public, agency representatives, and others, in support of corporate programs, operations, and activities. This role will also work closely with the Manager, Protective Services in support of the Emergency Program and will liaise closely with Emergency Support Services. Additional responsibilities include leading the introduction and integration of the Certificate of Recognition (COR) Program, supporting the safety management system, and serving as a Deputy or relief Emergency Preparedness Program lead. This position would be a good fit for a HR professional with Occupational Health and Safety experience and, ideally, someone with a background in safety management systems and an interest or experience in emergency preparedness programs.
