Chief Administrative Officer
The Town of Smithers www.smithers.ca is seeking a motivated, experienced executive to help lead a thriving mountain town in Northwest British Columbia as its Chief Administrative Officer.
Reporting to the Town’s Mayor and Town Council, you will lead a 65-member team to consistently deliver high-quality municipal services to the community’s 5,400 residents and implement Council’s strategic priorities.
Smithers offers an attractive mountain town lifestyle. It is home to a wide range of recreational opportunities, including a ski hill and nordic centre, mountain bike trails, two arenas and world-class steelhead fishing. Its character Main Street and downtown feature boutiques, cafes and craft breweries.
As the ideal candidate, you will have strong academic credentials, a background in public administration or business administration, and a proven track record of accomplishments at the executive level. You have either served as the chief administrator of a smaller local government or as a senior manager of a larger one. You are a team player and strategic thinker with excellent communications skills, financial literacy and sound political judgement.
