Landscape Design Technician
Parks and Recreation
Reporting to the Manager of Parks and Recreation, the Parks Landscape Design Technician is part of the team which oversees the construction and maintenance of parks, recreational facilities and open spaces within the City. This position assists in the creation of innovative park and open space or redevelopment of the same, and other temporary or permanent public realm initiatives (i.e. parklets, laneways, trails, playgrounds, sports surfaces, streetscapes and public plazas) from conceptual design through construction management. The Parks and Recreation Landscape Design Technician also assists the Manager of Parks and Recreation in long range parks planning, project management and park policy development.
The successful applicant will have considerable knowledge of landscape construction methodologies and materials, drafting methods, and landscape design principles and practices applicable to the work.
Preferred applicants will possess a Diploma in Landscape Design, Landscape Architecture, Parks Planning or related discipline, as well as 5 years of related experience and a valid driver’s license. Please refer to the job posting on the City of Langford’s website for the full job description.
The salary range offered for this full-time position is $35.60 – $38.90 per hour plus an excellent benefits plan.
