Election for the 2020-2021 CAMA Board of Directors – Manitoba & Saskatchewan and Member-At-Large for a Municipality with a Population over 100,000
During our recent election process for the 2020-2021 CAMA Board of Directors there were two positions available: one for Manitoba and Saskatchewan and one for a Member-At-Large for a municipality with a population over 100,000.
                                      
In accordance with the requirements of the CAMA by-laws, I wish to advise the membership that the 2020 Nominating Committee has received the following nominations for the position of Manitoba and Saskatchewan that is available on the CAMA Board of Directors for the 2020-2021 year:
Jamie Paik, Chief Administrative Officer, Town of Langham, SK                 
Eric King, Chief Administrative Officer, Town of Niverville, MB
Cameron Bell, Chief Administrative Officer, Rural Municipality of Lac du Bonnet, MB
               
The 2020 Nominating Committee has received the following nominations for the position of Member-At-Large for a municipality with a population over 100,000 for the 2020-2021 year:                                                                                                        
Gary Kent, Commissioner of Corporate Services & CFO, City of Mississauga, ON
Keshwer Patel, Commissioner of Corporate Services & CFO, City of Waterloo, ON
Jacques Dubé, Chief Administrative Officer, Halifax Regional Municipality, NS

An election for these two positions on the Board of Directors is therefore required.  Voting will take place commencing on Monday, May 4th 2020 at 8:30 a.m. AST and finishing on Friday, May 8th, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. PST.

CAMA is a national organization and when elections are held, every Regular Member, regardless of the Province or Territory you work in, votes for the candidate of your choice in each respective jurisdiction. You are therefore eligible to vote for one nominee for the Member-At-Large position, and one nominee for Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Further information regarding the procedures for voting will be distributed electronically to all CAMA members eligible to vote, prior to the commencement of the voting period.

Please also note that only CAMA members in good standing with membership fees paid for the current fiscal year (April 1st, 2020 to March 31st, 2021) will be eligible to vote.

Élection du représentant du Manitoba et Saskatchewan et membre à titre particulier pour une municipalité de plus de 100 000 habitants et au conseil d’administration 2020-2021 de l’ACAM.

Pour l’élection des membres du conseil d’administration de 2020-2021, deux postes étaient ouverts: un pour le Manitoba et la Saskatchewan, et un pour le membre à titre particulier pour une municipalité de plus de 100 000 habitants.

Conformément aux exigences des règlements de l’ACAM, je tiens à informer les membres que le comité des candidatures 2020 a reçu les candidatures suivantes pour le poste de Manitoba and Saskatchewan qui est ouvert au conseil d’administration de l’ACAM pour 2020-2021

Le comité des candidatures 2020 a reçu les candidatures suivantes pour le  membre à titre particulier pour une municipalité de plus de 100 000 habitants pour 2020-2021 :

Il faut donc procéder à une élection pour ces postes. Le vote se tiendra de 8 h 30 (heure normale de l’Atlantique) le lundi 4 mai 2020 à 16 h 30 (heure normale du Pacifique) le vendredi 8 mai 2020. 

L’ACAM étant une organisation nationale, lorsqu’il y a élection dans une province ou une région territoriale, chaque membre titulaire, peu importe l’endroit où il travaille, est admissible à voter pour le candidat ou la candidate de son choix dans chaque province ou territoire. Vous pouvez donc voter pour un candidat au poste de membre à titre particulier pour une municipalité de plus de 100 000 habitants et un candidat pour Manitoba et Saskatchewan.

Tous les membres votants admissibles de l’ACAM recevront, avant le début de la période de scrutin, un complément d’information sur la procédure du vote électronique.

Il faut préciser que seuls les membres en règle de l’ACAM pourront voter, c’est-à-dire ceux dont la cotisation pour l’exercice en cours (1er avril 2020 au 31 mars 2021) aura été payée.

Virtual Annual General Meeting and Membership Renewals for 2020-2021 Year
CAMA's Annual General Meeting will take place virtually this year on Tuesday, June 2nd at 11:30 a.m. EST.  Watch for more details in the future.

The CAMA membership renewal invoices were e-mailed out the first week of January and were due on March 31st, 2020.  If you did not receive an invoice please contact Jennifer Goodine, CAMA Executive Director at [email protected] You can renew your membership online by Visa or Mastercard using your CAMA ID number that is noted on your invoice at https://www.civicinfo.bc.ca/cama/loginv3/membership or by sending a cheque to the CAMA National Office.  Please note that only CAMA members in good standing with membership fees paid for the current fiscal year (April 1st, 2020 to March 31st, 2021) will be eligible to vote in the upcoming Board election taking place by e-vote from May 4-8, 2020.  Only regular members in good standing will also be able to attend the Virtual Annual General Meeting.
