Electronic Filing For PSB Rebates
Since October 2011, both registered and non-registered filers of GST/HST rebates for Public Service Bodies (PSB) can file electronically. This is in addition to the suite of other returns and rebates the Canada Revenue Agency accepts electronically. Here are your options:

Registered PSB filers can file their PSB rebates with their GST/HST returns using either GST/HST NETFILE, or My Business Account.

Both registered and non-registered PSB filers can file their rebates using My Business Account.
To register or sign-in to My Business Account go to www.cra.gc.ca/mybusinessaccount.
To file using GST/HST NETFILE, go to www.cra.gc.ca/gsthst-netfile.
By filing online and signing up for direct deposit, public sector bodies will receive their rebates much faster than if they were to file on paper. For further information, contact Ms. Ellen Hay, Manager of the GST/HST Rebates Processing Section at (613) 952-8962 or [email protected].
Landry - Elected CAMA Representative for Alberta and the Northwest Territories
Marc has been the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the Town of Beaumont, Alberta since January 2008. Beaumont is located in the Edmonton Capital Region and is one of the 20 fastest growing communities in Canada. Previously, he was the CAO of the Town of Bouctouche, NB for 5 ½ years. When he started in this position, he was the youngest person to occupy a CAO’s position in Canada.
He has completed an MBA and is now completing the ICMA Leadership Program.
Marc has also done extensive international work. He helped communities in Louisiana following hurricanes Katrina and Rita, worked with communities in South Africa, Mozambique and Swaziland and is now working with the District of Kothom in Cambodia on capacity building under FCM International.
He also was selected as one of the 230 Canadians to participate in the Governor General’s Leadership Program.
Being an active member of CAMA has given him the opportunity to learn from the best CAO’s in the country, something that he truly values.

Marc Landry est directeur général de la municipalité de Beaumont depuis janvier 2008. Beaumont, située dans la région de la capitale de l’Alberta, Edmonton, est l’une des 20 collectivités canadiennes à la croissance la plus forte. Auparavant, Marc a été directeur général de la municipalité de Bouctouche (Nouveau-Brunswick) pendant 5 années et demie; à ses débuts, il était le plus jeune directeur général au Canada.
Marc est titulaire d’un M.B.A. et termine actuellement le programme de leadership de l’ICMA.
Marc a aussi une solide expérience internationale. Il a apporté son soutien à des collectivités de Louisiane après les ouragans Katrina et Rita et a œuvré auprès de collectivités d’Afrique du Sud, du Mozambique et du Swaziland; il travaille maintenant avec le District de Kothom, au Cambodge, pour le renforcement des capacités, sous l’égide de FCM International.

National Infrastructure Summit: September 10-12, 2012 Regina, SK

The second competition involves submission of a conceptual design plan to renew a pre-existing neighbourhood into an innovative, long-term, financially sustainable neighbourhood, again within the City of Regina. The finalists will be chosen during the Summit.

2012 CAMA Willis Award for Innovation: Town of High River, AB (Population under 20,000)

Congratulations to the Town of High River on being presented with the 2012 CAMA Willis Award for Innovation for the population category under 20,000 for the Charles Clark Medical Centre Partnership. This facility represents landmark partnerships for bringing healthcare to rural communities.
High River’s Charles Clark Medical Centre Partnership is a landmark project that represents an innovative, highly successful partnership between private, public and non-profit sectors. Spearheaded by a dedicated group of local physicians, this partnership includes the Town of High River, the Municipal District of Foothills, the High River Chamber of Commerce and several local service organizations.
This $6,000,000 plus project will ensure High River is at the forefront of providing quality healthcare services for residents and provide a teaching centre where young doctors in training can increase their rural medicine practice.
As well as providing space for eleven medical practices, the centre also includes an onsite cardiologist providing echocardiogram services, a dispensary, imaging lab, and soon-to-open walk-in clinic and Integrated Assessment Centre for patients who do not have a family doctor.
Three new doctors have already opened their practices and three experienced physicians have moved their practices into the centre where they can provide mentorship and support to the new graduates. The centre is expected to have eleven physicians working in 2012 and another ten will be recruited within the next five years.
This success is being noticed by Alberta Health Services, which recently recognized High River as a model for retaining and recruiting physicians to rural centres. The project also won awards of excellence from the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association and Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties in 2011.
