The District of Sechelt (the “District”) is requesting Proposals for the design and construction of the operations centre for the public works and parks departments (“PW and Parks”). The site is located on Lot L, 5400 Dusty Road, Sechelt BC.
The District expects the successful Proponent (“Contractor”) to have the following qualifications:
- Have completed at least three (3) projects, of similar scope within the last five (5) years;

This Request for Proposal (“RFP”) is being issued electronically through BC Bid (www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca), CivicInfo BC (www.civicinfo.bc.ca) and the District’s website (https://www.sechelt.ca/Work/Tenders-Proposals).
The District of Sechelt is located on the west coast of British Columbia (“BC”) approximately 67 kilometers (“km”) north of Vancouver. The region, known as the Sunshine Coast, includes approximately 3900 square km on the Sechelt Peninsula surrounded by the waters of the Strait of Georgia, Howe Sound, and Sechelt Inlet. The Sunshine Coast does not have an overland route to the BC mainland and is dependent on the BC Ferry Corporation for the movement of vehicles or by barge for other items. A passenger ferry service runs between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale in the south and a smaller passenger service between Earl’s Cove and Saltery Bay in the north.
The property is located at 5400 Dusty Road, a lot Zoned as Industrial 7 (I-7), with an additional entrance at 5445 Allen Road. Known as Lot L, the site is currently home to the PW and Parks portables, 2 Quonset Huts, a Britco storage container, miscellaneous outdoor storage and a current tenant, who are located outside of the proposed site for the new facility. Lot L is approx. 8.75 acres, with an expected 5.98 acres for the Operations Centre.
