“Highline Houses” Redevelopment Project North Bend, BCFraser Valley Regional District
“Highline Houses” Redevelopment Project
North Bend, BC
Request for Proposals
The Fraser Canyon is an incredibly beautiful, unique, and historic part of British Columbia with untapped economic potential and opportunities. This project could bring to life a new economic development opportunity in the Fraser Canyon in the form of eco or destination tourism, among many other possibilities, including potential community and other partnerships. Proponents with vision and a sense of history and community are encouraged to participate in this proposal call.
The FVRD owns a 20.58 acre parcel of land in North Bend, BC upon which two [undesignated] heritage homes are situated. These homes were formally owned by the Canadian Pacific Railway and historically used to house railway personnel. These homes are a vital part of the history and character of this community. The homes have fallen into disrepair over the years and the FVRD does not have funds on hand to redevelop them. The FVRD is seeking proposals from qualified proponents who are interested in a unique development opportunity. Proponents must be able carry all the costs, and assume all of the risk and liability, associated with the redevelopment of the homes, including any associated costs of subdivision and servicing. In exchange, upon the successful completion of the Project, the FVRD will transfer the homes and a negotiated land package to the successful proponent.
Proponents must be aware that the FVRD must comply with statutory requirements with respect to the disposition of land and improvements as a condition of this RFP.
This RFP closes on March 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.
