About the Legislative Calendar

The Legislative Calendar appearing on the CivicInfo BC website has been made possible through the generous support of the following organizations:

Ministry of Community DEVELOPMENT, Local Government Department

British Columbia’s Ministry of Community Development provides CivicInfo BC with an annual grant to develop or improve services that support local governments. Partial funding for the legislative calendar comes from this grant, and CivicInfo BC wishes to thank the Ministry for its support.

CivicInfo BC also wishes thank Deborah Humphrey, who works as a Financial Analyst in Financial Operations Division, for compiling much of the calendar’s original content. Intended as a quick reference guide for the local governments, Deborah assembled a draft calendar in late 2006, and she generously provided a copy to CivicInfo BC.

Young Anderson, Barristers and Solicitors

The Legislative Calendar has been reviewed by Young Anderson, a full-service local government law firm with offices in Vancouver and Kelowna. Since the firm was founded in 1987, they have worked with some of the largest and the smallest of local governments in British Columbia.

The firm’s practice reflects the wide variety of issues addressed by local governments. In addition to advising clients on local government bylaws, council and board procedure, land use control, property taxation and expropriation, LYA lawyers have expertise and experience in a variety of fields in which local governments are involved including real estate, corporate and business law, employment law, tendering and construction law, native law, environmental law, human rights and freedom of information and privacy protection.

CivicInfo BC has been pleased to work with Young Anderson on this project, and we sincerely thank the firm for its support an advice.

More information about Young Anderson can be found at www.lya.bc.ca, or the firm may be contacted at:
