The CivicInfo BC website was built in 1999, originally using an Oracle 8i database, utilizing the Oracle interMedia module for text retrieval. In 2003, Oracle was replaced with mySQL, with the exception of our Document Library which continued to rely on Oracle until 2005. The Document Library is now powered by search technology purchased from Google. Custom web application programming has been done using Active Server Pages (ASP).
