Subject Area(s):
Health
Description:
Walk BC encourages individual and group walking to increase overall health in communities through a range of programs that promote walking. Walking is an easy form of physical activity for most people and regular walking can lead to long term lifestyle changes and health benefits.
Walk BC will award up to 50 grants to a maximum of $5,000 each to communities across BC. These grants are intended to encourage communities to develop or enhance walking programs for inactive adults between the ages of 35-54 because they are the largest age segment in BC and key influencers of activity levels in other age groups.
