The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a permanent full-time Victim Services Program Manager to join our team of professionals in the Protective Services Division - RCMP.

You will be responsible in this exempt position for managing civilian staff and volunteers in the Victim Services section with overall responsibility for recruitment, selection, training, performance appraisal, discipline and the maintenance of safe work practices. You will also be developing and submitting operating budgets for the Victim Services program to the Police Services Manager, Langley RCMP in accordance with the Municipality’s standards and procedures and administering the approved budget for the section to ensure cost control and effective utilization of resources. You will be ensuring delivery of direct services to victims and witnesses, including court orientation and accompaniment, information, referral and emotional support as well as providing crisis intervention services to victims at the request of R.C.M.P members which could include attendance at suicide scenes, fatal motor vehicle incidents, sexual assaults, violence in relationships, home invasions, armed robberies and sudden deaths. You will also oversee the Member/Employee Assistance Program at Langley detachment.

Your education includes a University Bachelor’s degree plus five years police-based victim services experience or a Master’s degree plus two years police-based victim services experience. In addition, completion of the Victim Services Certificate program and Critical Incident Stress Management certificate program through the Justice Institute of BC is preferred. You have considerable volunteer management experience and have the ability to speak to outside agencies and groups and conduct training with internal and external partners. You have considerable related work experience in an RCMP environment with demonstrated ability to manage staff in a unionized work environment. RCMP enhanced security clearance and valid BC Drivers license are required.
