SUSTAINABLE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT PART-TIME STUDIES
SCHOOL OF CONSTRUCTION AND THE ENVIRONMENT
The School of Construction and the Environment at BCIT requires a variety of part-time Instructors and Course Developers to assist in the development and delivery of courses within the Sustainable Resource Management program in 2010 and beyond. These temporary, part-time opportunities could lead to longer term employment. If you would like to share your knowledge, enjoy teamwork, have an innovative approach, and a proven track record in industry, we would like to hear from you.
Responsibilities may include instructing and/or developing new curriculum, field and lab activities to support a new Diploma of Technology program in one, or a combination of, the following areas:

Integrated Land Management

Urban and Rural Environmental Planning and Administration

Community Forestry

Environmental and Administrative Law

Integrated Vegetation Management

Identifying and Managing Geohazards

Tree Risk Assessment

Urban Forest Inventory and Appraisal

Urban and Community Wildfire Management

Law, Ethics and Professionalism

Urban Interface and Rural Community Planning

Managing Community Watershed

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field of study
-
Five years’ related industrial experience
-
Professional registration is preferred
-
Post-secondary teaching experience, or equivalent, is preferred
-
Effective command of the English language – both written and oral
-
Effective interpersonal skills and a strong desire to teach innovative programs
-
Desire for ongoing professional development
-
Ability to work within, and develop, a collegial environment

SALARY RANGE:
$57.69 to $86.53 percontact hour (Placement based on experience, inclusive of vacation pay and holiday pay)
