More than 18,000 people, mostly young families, live in Fort St. John and the community supports a trading area of more than 62,000 residents in the City and outlying service region.

The Recreation Programmer will assist with all facets of City sponsored and/or coordinated events, including event scheduling, event management, event staffing, prize solicitation, and coordination of registration and awards. The successful candidate will coordinate planning of activities and entertainment in accordance with stated objectives, with an emphasis on superior customer service. Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings and be present for all events.

Required qualifications, licenses and certificates include: a diploma or degree in recreation, marketing or related field; minimum three years supervisory experience and a Class 5 BC Drivers’ License. Rate of pay is as per the Collective Agreement at $28.12/hour.
