Public Works Manager


The Regional District Okanagan-Similkameen has an exciting career opportunity for an experienced professional who will bring innovative and effective leadership to the position of Public Works Manager.

A key member of the Senior Management Team reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, this position requires considerable local government public works experience with a strong operational understanding of water and waste water systems and social marketing programs.

The successful incumbent will possess strong project management, supervisory and administrative skills while demonstrating previous experience managing water distribution and treatment facilities; wastewater collection and treatment facilities; landfill and transfer station operations; solid waste management practices; air quality and waste reduction public education programs.

Qualifications:

  • 10 years related experience.
  • Successful completion of a Civil Engineering Degree or Certified Applied Science Technician or Technologist Diploma.
  • EOCP certifications in Water Distribution, Water and Wastewater Treatment an asset.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • A member of, or eligibility for full membership in, the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia or Society of Applied Engineering Technician or Technologists of B.C.
